  • Principal Objective

    The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and optimizing our IT systems, hardware, software and applications. Their role is to support the day-to-day stable operation of our computer systems and assist users with all IT needs. Duties include initial problem definition and clarification through diagnostic testing and final resolution while ensuring minimal system downtime. The person will diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and support where required. At times, the individual may serve as a project leader  which would require planning, deadlines and communication with other team members. This individual must possess exceptional organizational and problem solving skills to excel on multiple duties with competing priorities.


    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide service and support in all facets of information technology
    • Configure, troubleshoot and manage our information systems and technology solutions in support of our business needs
    • Configure and maintain hardware including desktops, laptops and all peripherals
    • Configure and support desktop operating systems
    • Provide end-user support
    • Assist with managing antivirus and patching systems for desktop computers
    • Provide support for VPN and mobile device connectivity
    • Assist with supporting Cisco network equipment and phone system as needed
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and network connectivity issues
    • Represent IT team on business initiatives
    • Perform other related duties as requested or directed
    • Work cohesively with corporate IT department  

    Job Specifications (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required)

    • Bachelor’s Degree (experience in lieu of degree may be considered)
    • Microsoft Certification highly preferred
    • 5+ years information technology experience with demonstrable experience in all aspects of client/server technology
    • 3-5 years financial systems related experience with Jack Henry systems experience preferred
    • Extensive experience with installing, configuring and maintaining operating systems in a networked environment using Windows 7 & 10 including imaging workstations
    • Experience with many aspects of information technology including Active Directory, Microsoft Office and Outlook, LAN/WAN connectivity, DHCP and TCP/IP networking
    • Working technical knowledge of current Internet technology, protocols and standards
    • Experience with installing, configuring and managing application and IT systems including antivirus, patching and client management tools
    • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills
    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
    • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
    • Positive attitude with strong desire to assist people
    • On-call availability and some travel may be required
